How To Tell Apart Clone Troopers And Stormtroopers: Christmas Edition

Clone troopers are the perfect balance of training and conditioning. They are the product of the cloning facilities of Tipoca City on the storm-ravaged planet of Kamino. Modeled after their clone source, Jango Fett, they were created under a shroud of secrecy at the request of the mysterious Jedi Sifo-Dyas ten years prior to the start of the Clone Wars. Formidable adversaries for any opposition, the clone troopers proved their worth to the Republic in countless battles against the droid armies of the Separatists. However, when Palpatine unleashes his sinister plot to seize power, the clone troopers reveal that their true loyalties are not to the Republic, but to Palpatine himself. These elite troops enforce Palpatine's will without hesitation or mercy, crushing any and all enemies of the new Galactic Empire. This ornament is EXTREMELY rare! In writing The Empire Strikes Back, Lucas initially decided that Lando Calrissian was a clone and came from a planet of clones which caused the "Clone Wars" mentioned by Obi-Wan Kenobi in A New Hope;[17][18] he later came up with an alternate concept of an army of clone shocktroopers from a remote planet which were used by the Republic as an army in the war that followed.[19]

The prequel trilogy films often refer to the original trilogy in order to help connect the films together. Lucas has often referred to the films as a long poem that rhymes.[37] Such examples include the line "I have a bad feeling about this", a phrase used in each film, and lightsaber duels which almost always occur over a pit. As with Attack of the Clones, The Empire Strikes Back was the middle film in a trilogy, and of the original trilogy films, The Empire Strikes Back is the object of the most references in Attack of the Clones. In both films, an asteroid field is the backdrop of a major star battle in the middle of the film. Obi-Wan escapes Jango Fett by attaching his spacecraft to an asteroid in order to disappear from the enemy sensors; Han Solo uses a similar tactic by attaching the Millennium Falcon to a Star Destroyer in The Empire Strikes Back. As a retcon, John Knoll confirms on the film's DVD commentary that Boba Fett, who would later catch Solo in the act in The Empire Strikes Back, "learned his lesson" from the events of Attack of the Clones.[32] The Galactic Republic's clone troopers also establish the origin of the stormtroopers that play an important role in the original trilogy. The titles of both films refer to the response of the primary galactic government to a threat of rebellion

Cloned from the genetic template of bounty hunter Jango Fett, the clones would be tasked with serving the Grand Army of the Republic. Every Clone Trooper was fitted with an Inhibitor Chip; organic chips built into the troopers heads designed to make them obedient to every command when activated. The troopers were first called into service during the Battle of Geonosis, when Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala were captured. A Jedi taskforce led by Mace Windu were sent to rescue the three captives, however the large number of Battle Droids eventually wore down the unprepared army. Clone troopers were deployed on LAAT gunships with Jedi Master Yoda, evacuating the little surviving Jedi. After a long and bloody battle, the Republic forces would emerge victorious.

Clone troopers continued to serve as the main infantry units throughout the Clone Wars, participating in most battles throughout the galaxy-wide war. While most clones were standard infantry, some took on specialized roles, such as pilots, gunners, and bomb diffusers, however all had some degree of proficiency with handheld blaster weapons. Clone trooper armour evolved over the course of the three-year war, first beginning with the Phase I armor, and transitioning into Phase II, which was lighter and more maneuverable, but provided less protection. It is also of note that the second phase held more resemblance to the Imperial Stormtroopers, the trooper type that replaced clones during the Empire's reign.

As the Clone Wars drew to a close, Chancellor Palpatine, who was secretly the Sith Lord Darth Sidious and enemy to the Jedi, ordered the clone troopers to execute Order 66, designating the Jedi as traitors to the Republic who should be shot on sight. Upon the order, the clones Inhibitor Chips activated, forcing the soldiers to comply with the order, crippling the Jedi Order. Shortly after, clone troopers of the 501st Legion would accompany Sidious' apprentice, Darth Vader, formerly Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker during the march on the Jedi Temple. After Palpatine reformed the Republic into the Galactic Empire and declared himself Emperor, he ordered his apprentice, Vader, to eliminate the Separatist leaders who he knew were stationed on the planet Mustafar. After Vader completed this task, he broadcasted a signal obtained from the Separatist base, causing the majority of confederate droids to deactivate, ending the Clone Wars. 2ff7e9595c
